Here’s a mock scene of Saber’s Aris Sell (and a hint at Selvan Crusades). Enjoy!

Several footsteps came from behind her and she turned slowly around, faced with a massive wookie. As it yipped and growled, she quickly translated.

“The Jedi acts strong. She is simply a broken girl.”

“What? I’m not—”

“Not you, Jedi, your friend.”

“Oh.” She turned and looked down at the depths below. “She’s just stubborn.”

“No,” he waved his hand and shook his head then folded his arms. “She is hurt.”

“What? She’s hurt!? I didn’t even notice—”

“Not physically!” he growled. “Mentally! Emotionally!” He pushed a single talon against her chest by her heart. “In here.”

“Oh.” Aris breathed, putting her hand over her heart when the wookie pulled away. “She’s bleeding internally?”

“For the love of—she’s hurt in her heart!

“Oh! Right.”

“You are her friend, aren’t you?”

“Well, I mean, sorta.”

“Then you should’ve noticed. She acts like she hates you, but all she really wants is for you to come after her when she leaves. She simply wants someone to be there for her.” His eyes shifted down to the darkness beneath them. “She is lonely.”

“Selvan? Lonely? Are you sure we’re talking about the same girl?”

“You tell me, Jedi.” He turned his attention back to her. “Does Selvan train often?”

“Yeah.”

“Training the body helps when your soul is damaged.”

“Okay, look, she’s fine. She runs around acting like the top-hound all the time! How could I have not seen this so-called damage?”

“Because she has learned to hide it. She must have carried this burden for years.”

“Then why won’t she talk to me about it?”

“You know her, don’t you? Do you think she would simply come out and tell you that she’s lonely? After all the work she put into being strong?”

Aris rubbed the back of her head. “No, I guess not.”

The wookie grinned then gestured to elevator. “You should go after her. I will pull up the—”

“I’m coming for you, Selvan!” Aris leapt off the side of the platform. “You won’t be lonely anymore!” she hollered as she fell. The wookie sighed.

“I will never understand females.”
