Trying To Write Again~
What will we do with a drunken whaler?
Stuff him in a sack and throw him over early in the morning.
Feed him to the hungry rats for dinner early in the morning.
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises
Early in the morning
Shoot him through the heart with a loaded pistol
Early in the morning
Slice his throat with a rusty clever early in the morning
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises early in the morning
Hmm-hmm-hmm
Hmm-hmm-hmm
Mmm-hmm-hmm
Brainstorming here to help me write:
If your character’s greatest fear came true, what would happen?
Character: Katara
Fear: The Dark
Begin.
Katara clawed at the ground. No, her mind hissed. No! This can’t be happening! She couldn’t see. Not like before, where colors were gone from her mind and her eyes were non-existant, but without her lines. She couldn’t see anything. She couldn’t sense anything. She felt blind. She felt so alone.
The darkness crowded in on her, consuming images and ideas of what was going on around her. No one knew she couldn’t see anymore. No one knew. She curled into a ball and grabbed her head, jaw locked. I can’t see, she thought to herself. For the first time in my life, I actually feel blind.
So much fear tinged the edge of her dark-shrouded mind. It crept into her soul and, without the reassuring white lines to keep it away, it came close enough to breathe down her neck. Her hand unclamped from her head and pressed against the ground, palm down, fingers spread out. Nothing. No sense of motion. No sense of anything. The sinking feeling in her gut fell deeper and she felt like she couldn’t breathe. It was so dark and she was so scared.
Actually, this could be an amazing opening for Harvest 2. A dream, possibly? And what Silver Vain attempts to do to her later on? But with her strength, she pushes past it, eventually learning to see again. The dream is something of a vision of what is to come; her subconscious is warning her.
Another brainstorming thing for fun
Character: Katara
Character: Me
Begin.
So, Katara Baneswing, right?
Yes. You’ve heard of me?
How couldn’t I have? You’re Silver Vain’s guard dog.
I am no dog! He and I are partners! What’s with you?
Sorry, sorry. Didn’t mean to upset you.
I’m not upset.
Right. Anyway, how are you?
Just fine.
Aren’t you going to ask me how I’m doing?
Why should I? I assumed you’d tell me anyway.
I’m doing fine, thanks for asking. *sigh* Tell me about these dreams you have.
No.
Why not?
It’s none of your business.
It was just a question…
One I’m not answering.
Jeez. Fine. Whatever. Can I ask you something else?
Why not?
Will you answer it?
Depends on the question.
Right. Thanks. -_- How are you typing right now on the keyboard?
…I don’t know what you mean.
You’re blind.
No, really?
Then how are you typing?
…Someone may be helping me.
Who?
None of your business!
You’re really uptight today.
Just unsettled, is all.
About those nightmares?
…
Would it help if you talked about it?
I—…yeah, I guess so.
It’s just, they’re creepy, you know?
Are you okay talking about this while someone else is typing it?
She says she’s okay with it. I should tell her too, anyway.
Okay.
It’s just, they’re freaky. They’ve been getting worse and worse every night.
The other day I had a dream about my parents. We were in a forest. I’m always in a forest.
The forest is really pretty. I can see it in my dreams. With eyes and stuff.
My parents were there and they called out to me. As I went towards them, the animals attacked them.
The animals are really nice, too. They always play together—the carnivores and herbivores don’t hurt each other.
They always protect me, too. From evil things. But they attacked my parents. When they did so, they, my parents, vanished into something like smoke. Or, I think it was like smoke. I’m not entirely sure.
Why would they do that?
Because they were a threat. And they weren’t really my parents—they were this…person. She looks like me. I think. She’s been trying to touch me ever since I got in this forest. She’s covered in black and is some sort of inky shape. She drips with black and whenever she touches anything, it dies.
She keeps reaching out for me each time I come in there.
And that scares you.
Of course it does! Why wouldn’t it? It’s like she wants to kill us!
Me.
She wants to kill me.
Us?
*me
…are you okay?
I’m fine. I’ve got to go.
Bye! –Lily
Wait!
Katara!
They have gone offline.
Silver Vain has come Online.
Hello there.
Hello.
Are you upset with us?
Should I be?
We suppose not. Or at least, we hope not. Would you like to meet us for lunch?
Lunch?
Yes. At the café down the street.
You planning on killing me?
No.
Somehow I don’t believe you.
What time?
In one hour. We will order you some coffee, if that makes it better.
Heck yes. I’ll be there. Make sure to get the kind I like.
Of course.
Silver Vain has gone Offline.
I’ve still not finished a query letter or a synopsis.
Awesome.
