How to Love the Perfect Husband

Coffee with a splash of milk is the only way to drink it.

It works better if you’re lactose intolerant.

             Bonus points if your

stomach can’t handle

coffee.

It’s comforting at first.

Warm, delicious.

Everything is normal.

You have no suspicions.

It takes some time for the initial wave of pain to set in.

You laugh it off, tell yourself that it’s

nothing. After all, who’s allergic to coffee?

It feels like you’ve swallowed a bag diamonds,

just the right size,

just the right look,

just for you.

You tell yourself the initial taste was worth it.

So you take another sip.

                                                                                           The reaction is

                                                                                           worse.

You are cold coffee

Spit onto the ground

Discarded

Thrown away

Covered with molded fruit and rancid meat.

You want to gag.

But the taste was worth it

The taste was worth it, right?

Tell me the taste was worth it –
