\u201cThe Jedi acts strong. She is simply a broken girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat? I\u2019m not\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNot you, Jedi, your friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh.\u201d She turned and looked down at the depths below. \u201cShe\u2019s just stubborn.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo,\u201d he waved his hand and shook his head then folded his arms. \u201cShe is hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat? She\u2019s hurt!? I didn\u2019t even notice\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNot physically!\u201d he growled. \u201cMentally! Emotionally!\u201d He pushed a single talon against her chest by her heart. \u201cIn here.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh.\u201d Aris breathed, putting her hand over her heart when the wookie pulled away. \u201cShe\u2019s bleeding internally?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the love of\u2014she\u2019s hurt in her heart!<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh! Right.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are her friend, aren\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, I mean, sorta.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThen you should\u2019ve noticed. She acts like she hates you, but all she really wants is for you to come after her when she leaves. She simply wants someone to be there for her.\u201d His eyes shifted down to the darkness beneath them. \u201cShe is lonely.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSelvan? Lonely? Are you sure we\u2019re talking about the same girl?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou tell me, Jedi.\u201d He turned his attention back to her. \u201cDoes Selvan train often?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTraining the body helps when your soul is damaged.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay, look, she\u2019s fine. She runs around acting like the top-hound all the time! How could I have not seen this so-called damage?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause she has learned to hide it. She must have carried this burden for years.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThen why won\u2019t she talk to me about it?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know her, don\u2019t you? Do you think she would simply come out and tell you that she\u2019s lonely? After all the work she put into being strong?\u201d<\/p>\n
Aris rubbed the back of her head. \u201cNo, I guess not.\u201d<\/p>\n
The wookie grinned then gestured to elevator. \u201cYou should go after her. I will pull up the\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m coming for you, Selvan!\u201d Aris leapt off the side of the platform. \u201cYou won\u2019t be lonely anymore!\u201d she hollered as she fell. The wookie sighed.<\/p>\n
